なんと、横浜に公立小学校なのに水族館が設置されているという場所があるそうです。
Y先生が行くというので、ちゃっかり着いていきました。横浜まで。

Y “sempai” told me that in Yokohama there is a public school which has aquarium with it as one of education. It sounds interesting, so I visited there with Y sempai.

(”Sempai” is Japanese word, which means senior person in work place or some groups. In this case, Y “sempai” is my senior teacher in the work place.)


海水水族館。海水を使って水族館ができています。小学校に到着して職員室を伺うと、優しそうな教職員のかたがバッジをくれました。これで自由に見ていいそう。

This is entrance of the aquarium. Arriving at the school, we visited teracher’s room and got allowance to visit the aquarium. The teachers spoke to us friendly.


中に入ると最初はこんな感じ。きれいな水槽に小さな魚が泳いでいたり、剥製があったり、児童手作りのレポートがあったり。
In side of the aquarium, there were beutiful aquariums (water cases) within plenty of fish, stuffed animals (crocodile and king crab!) and report which the students made.


天然記念物のミヤコタナゴ。すごく元気だった。

イソギンチャクにクマノミ。ニモがいるよー！
Sea anemone (JPName isoginchaku) and Clownfish (JPN, Kumanomi) — the fish of Finding Nemo!


間田小学校で生まれたドチザメのホルマリン漬け。死んでしまったけれど、せっかくなので永久保存できるようにと作ったそうです。顔がかわいい。
Banded houndshark (JPName Dochizame ). This is formalined fish. The fish was born in this school but died fast.

水槽のあるフロアからは、タッチングがメインのコーナーと、プールのコーナーがありました。
タッチング水槽。触れ合える水槽です。そこにはヒラメだかカレイだかがいました。
Next to the aquarium corner, there were touching corner and pool.

なまこのコーナーでなまこに触るY先生。ぬるっとしていました。
Y “sempai” touched sea cucumber. The surface was sliming.

そしてプールのコーナーへ。

なんと、サメとかが大量に泳いでいる。ちょっと怖いぞ。
In the pool, sharks and torpedos were swimming.

そんなわけで、小学校に水族館があるのでした。すごい。
カレイかヒラメか、エイかマンタか、区別できるようになりたい。
Of course, it is not natural but the fact that there is a big aquarium in elementary school was amazing.
